All schools in England are required to be open for a minimum of 32 hours and 30 minutes each week.

At our school, the ‘Soft Start’ allows children to arrive on site from 8:35 a.m., coming straight into class. This approach ensures that pupils are calm and ready to learn when the school day begins at 8:45 a.m., and it also provides valuable time for early intervention work.

Our school week runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, which totals 32 hours and 30 minutes of structured learning time each week — fully meeting the national expectation.
